Tonight and tomorrow as with most other holidays I will be taking a hiatus from Facebook and Blog writing but I wanted to share a few thoughts with you before I leave. As you unwrap your presents take time to appreciate that time that was spent in getting it for you. The saying goes that Christmas isn't about opening gifts but it is about opening your heart. I challenge you to do two things when you are busy undoing someone's long and tedious hard work of wrapping.
Firstly remember to love the giver more than the gift. Whether it is a hand made bauble or a store bought gift it still comes with a level of stress and a time commitment that means "I love you enough to get you a gift". The least we can do is thank them by loving them back when we open it.
Secondly remember that the best present this Christmas can't be unwrapped. It can't be bought in the store, made in the enveloping chaos of a house with three children, shipped from China, or made in America. The best gift this Christmas is the gift of a Savior and it is free to anyone who asks for it.
I love you all and I sincerely hope you have a Blessed and Merry Christmas,
-Larry
