<--When a Dragon moves in by Jodi Moore and Howard McWilliams-->
I think almost every boy at some point in their life wishes they could hang out with a Dragon. Of course stories with Dragons are near and dear to my heart but that aside how cool would it be to just be able to build a sand castle and BAM a Dragon moves in? I mean having him move in is the first step to domesticating him, just ask any wife! Jokes aside though I really love this book and it warms my heart to see a book that uses imagination as much as this book does, and it does it in a very well written / illustrated way.
-Spelling and grammar this book gets a 5- Proper punctuation, no misspelled words, and all around a good flow.
-Illustrations are given a 5- The illustrations in this book are awesome! The pictures are vibrantly colored and pop right off the page. Excellently done for sure.
-Uniqueness gets a 4- I love how this book pulls at your imagination. The fact that a Dragon would move into a sand castle is both unique and outlandish which might be what makes it so good
-Plot gets a 4- Again because the fact that it is about a Dragon moving in and tormenting the boys sister is great. I really couldn't ask for much else in a kids book
-Cover design gets a 5- There is a fire breathing Dragon on the cover! As if that wasn't enough it is vibrantly colored just like the rest of the book and the detail is amazing. What more could you want?
-Ability to connect with children gets a 3- This book may alienate any young daughters out there as the book is written about a boy who builds a sand castle so it might be hard for the girls to connect. The boys however I’m sure will get right into it. I know my little man loves it...and if I’m honest, so do I.
-With it's superbly done illustrations and imaginative message I give this book a full 4.3 and I encourage anyone with young boys to read this book to them, together of course, preferably out loud.
